Even
as open unemployment in Spain has hit
nearly a quarter of its labour force under
the economic decline that is now several
years old, resolution of the crisis seems
unlikely anytime soon. While the current
juncture cries out for European solidarity,
it is being met by a reversion to nationalist
chauvinism, driven by wrong diagnosis
of the European economic reality.
