The
G20 gained prominence in the immediate
periods after the 2008 financial crisis
hit the world. However, as the aftermath
of the crisis continues to threaten a
bigger global crisis, the G20 has been
more of style over substance, with member
countries failing to agree amongst themselves,
much less provide any clear direction
for the global economy.
