Feminist Perspectives on Sovereign Debt Resolution IAFFE Conference 2024, 5 July 2024

With ongoing debt distress in many low and middle income countries, the concerns about sovereign debt resolution have become more significant than ever. Yet the efforts at resolution of debt problems are not only slow, inefficient and ineffective, they have also betrayed a severe lack of feminist perspectives, which have added to the concerns and the inequalities of such efforts. This panel will consider both theoretical and empirical strategies to incorporate gender concerns into sovereign debt resolution.
