Workshop on “Political Economy of Underdevelopment” IDEAs and Sam Moyo African Institute for Agrarian Studies (SMAIAS), Harare, Zimbabwe

IDEAs is organising a workshop in partnership with the Sam Moyo African Institute for Agrarian Studies (SMAIAS) on the “Political Economy of Underdevelopment” in Harare, Zimbabwe. The workshop is scheduled to take place from February 5 to 9, 2024 and will bring together approximately 30 participants, including current students and alumni of the IDEAs Advanced Certificate Programme in Research in Political Economy, along with other scholars from the Global South.

The workshop will have lectures by esteemed professors and resource persons, along with deliberations on issues related to underdevelopment in the Global South.

We extend an invitation to interested scholars to apply and participate in the workshop. The event will be conducted in hybrid mode (online and in-person). Limited seats are available for guest participants. In-person attendance is open to scholars affiliated with universities and institutes in Harare and nearby areas, while online seats are available to participants from any location.
